New Year ushers in lots of positivity. Its a time we believe we can bring in a change and hope to be successful at it.
But only a small percentage of people actually make resolutions and an even smaller percentage fulfill it. It’s hard to keep up the enthusiasm months after you’ve swept up the confetti, but it’s not impossible. This year, pick one of the following worthy resolutions, and we recommend sticking with it.
1. Get a Health Check Up
No point putting it off and if it’s been awhile since you’ve been given a clean bill of health, you may want to resolve going for it now. Flagging off the year without having to worry about a serious medical condition looming in the background is one way to give it a great start.
2. Reconnect with an Old Friend
It’s easier than ever these days to find old friends and strike up new conversations with them. It often happens that two people can drift apart for no good reason, and it just takes one of them to rekindle things. So here’s to new beginnings and tide.
3. Be More Adventurous (Take More Chances)
It is easy to get sucked into the vortex of everyday life of routine and ritual, but most of us want to make sure that we are leading a full and wholesome life. This doesn’t necessarily mean flying by the seat and making foolish decisions, but taking calculated risks and adding some excitement to life, just wouldn’t hurt.
4. Encourage My Kids More
If one of your goals is to stop yelling at your kids, a better approach is to focus on what you want to do more of and start doing that. That keeps the focus on something positive, and you always want a good habit to replace a bad.
5. Stop Texting or calling while driving
This is one of the most dangerous practices to emerge in modern civilization. There’s no excuse for being in a moving vehicle with your eyes facing downward. Treat your vehicle like the potentially lethal weapon that it is and have your eyes on the road.
6. Read More
With so much entertainment and infotainment streaming at us these days, books seem to be getting less attention than they once did. So whether you’re getting immersed in a piece of fiction or learning a DIY, choose something that interests you and tackle it head on.
7. Pick up useful skills or fun hobbies
Just sitting around all day won’t get you anywhere. It is much better to use your free time in a constructive manner and pick up new skills while having fun at the same time. The Future-You will be glad that you did. No matter if you’re interested in communication skills or sports, travelling; if this is what your heart wants then just go for it.
8. Spend more time with the people that matter
There is just too little time in this life for us to waste it on insincere and diabolical people. We should focus on the people who we care about deeply and who care about us, as this is the best way to stay happy.
9. Get more quality sleep
With big TV’s, computers, smartphones, tablets and all sorts of gadgets with glowing lights and alerts, it can be hard to get enough sleep at night. You should be gunning for at least 8 hours of sleep a night, and there are fairly simple ways to achieve this number if you make make a sincere effort of just switching off.
10. Stop procrastinating
The biggest barrier that keeps most people from reaching goals is the desire to relax and do something fun instead of working hard. Once you get used to procrastinating it’s difficult to snap yourself out of it, so you’ll need to put in a lot of work to change this bad habit.
We wish each one of you a great 2017 and look forward to a wonderful journey repairing, maintaining and installing your home home appliances 🙂
